Industrial edge is a huge 2018 design trend and it almost goes without saying that concrete and industrial style go hand in hand. Get the look without the cost and messy install with our water resistant Elemental Concrete laminate (F8830). A feature wall or restaurant bar can be transformed into a rustic, chic environment. I don’t believe architecture has to speak too much. It should remain silent and let nature in the guise of sunlight and wind. @tadao.ando #architecture #concretearchitecture #concrete #sunlight #minimalism #emptyroom

....morning commute. Another Barbican observation. No, this is not a brutalist project by Juliaan Lampens, it's a 1967 concrete chapel in Turku, by the Finish architect Pekka Pitkänen. #turku #chapel #pekkapitkänen #concrete #brutalism #concretearchitecture #finishdesign #cruiselife #balticsea #seabourncruise #seabournovation #brutalist #juliaanlampens

If repetition is the highest form of appreciation, concrete is clearly the way forward. #afrisam #architecture #concrete #concretedesign #concretearchitecture #blackandwhite #designlife #designinspiration

Drove by this possibly one of the most iconic buildings of brutalist architecture today. The Casa del Portuale by architect Aldo Loris Rossi. Originally built for the social services for workers of the port of Naples between 1968 and 1980 it sadly has been left abandoned and open to the elements for years. #italy #naples #napoli #neapel #portofnaples #casadelportuale #aldorossi #brutalistarchitecture #brutalism #iconicarchitecture #betonbrut #concretearchitecture #architecturephotography

The Brunswick Centre, Bloomsbury, London. This megastructure has a "maximum brutality warning"!...I got access to the interior areas of the East blocks for the first time and well worth it! Complex spatially, feels like the interior of a Hydro Electric power station in a Dam without the generators. Or perhaps part of a Bond movie set, disappointed I did not see a fluffy white pussy... The building was to have been about 2x longer and reach all the way to the Euston Rd but the land could not be obtained. Really would have been a megastructure! Strangely enough it was to have been painted cream in reference to Georgian terraces that once stood in its place, thankfully they ran out of money! Was also surprisingly built as private housing but sales were poor so the flats were leased to Camden Council to be used as social housing. Designed by Patrick Hodgkinson, built 1967-1972. #keelinghouse , the natural progression for Denys Lasdun from the residential developments at Usk Street, Bethnal Green. The walkways in the sky' were intended to encourage community like the good Victorian streets below.
